AI Revolution Meets Sustainability: Driving Impact in 2025

Jakarta, 19 February 2025 – Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer just a tool for efficiency—it is now a driving force behind sustainable development. As the world faces pressing environmental, economic, and social challenges, AI is emerging as a transformative solution, helping industries, governments, and communities accelerate their sustainability efforts.
Recognizing this critical shift, leading experts and stakeholders gathered at the “AI Revolution Meets Sustainability: Driving Impact in 2025” event at IPMI Institute to explore how AI is reshaping the sustainability landscape. The event brought together policymakers, industry leaders, and academics to discuss AI-driven strategies for sustainable business practices, smart cities, and inclusive education.”
From optimizing energy consumption and reducing carbon footprints to revolutionizing waste management and enhancing climate modeling, AI is unlocking new possibilities for a more sustainable future. Key discussions at the event focused on:
1) How AI-powered systems can minimize environmental impact while increasing efficiency, ,
2) The integration of AI in urban planning to create eco-friendly, livable cities, ,
3) Leveraging AI to reduce waste, improve recycling systems, and drive responsible production, ,
4) Ensuring that AI solutions align with long-term sustainability goals and equitable access.
“AI is not just about technological advancement, it’s about ensuring that these innovations serve humanity and the planet,” said Prof. Eunice Mareth Querol-Areola, Ph.D., HSG, Dean and Director for Academic Affairs at UST Angelicum College and editor of Artificial Intelligence Revolution: Shaping Industries, Cities, and Education in the Digital Era.
This exclusive event, hosted by IPMI Institute, explored the intersection of AI and sustainability, providing a platform for distinguished experts to engage in insightful discussions and a special book review of the acclaimed publication, “Artificial Intelligence Revolution: Shaping Industries, Cities, and Education in the Digital Era.”
Building on these insights, the event also featured talk shows, in-depth book reviews, and a curated book fair, demonstrating IPMI Institute’s commitment to advancing knowledge in the field of Artificial Intelligence. Distinguished speakers included Prof. Eunice Mareth Querol-Areola, Ph.D. HSG – Dean and Director for Academic Affairs, UST Angelicum College, the editor of the book. Dr. Achmad Jaka Santos – Former Secretary of The Nusantara Capital Authority. Prof. Hammam and Oskar Riandi – Director , and Secretary General of AI Community KORIKA.

“AI has the power to transform entire economies while addressing climate challenges. However, we must ensure that AI-driven solutions are accessible and inclusive for all communities,” said Dr. Achmad Jaka Santos, former Secretary of the Nusantara Capital Authority.
Adding to the significance of the occasion, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed to foster cross-border collaboration in AI-driven sustainability initiatives between IPMI Institute and delegation from UST Angelicum College of the Philippines, led by the honorable Rector Rev. Rr. John Stephen P. Besa, OP. The event also included a curated book fair and expert panel discussions, reinforcing the importance of knowledge-sharing in AI and sustainable development.
