Dr. Firdaus Fanny Putera Perdana is a Senior Research Associate at the IPMI Institute Case Center. He contributes to the development of teaching cases, research projects, and policy frameworks that address strategic decision-making, Halal industry governance, and ESG alignment from an Islamic economics perspective.

His case development work draws on over a decade of experience across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe—combining field research, industry consulting, and academic rigor to produce cases that are both practical and analytically robust. His areas of focus include Halal supply chains, Halal ESG governance, policy-based strategy, and ethical business transformation.

In addition to his role at IPMI, Dr. Perdana consults for Riyal Consulting (Malaysia) and has served as lead researcher and rapporteur for Halal Development Corporation (HDC), including the SCHIFT and i-Connect initiatives. His work has contributed to Halal ecosystem benchmarking, ESG risk analysis, and technology integration across the global Halal industry.

He is a published scholar in peer-reviewed journals and a frequent speaker at international forums on Halal business strategy, Shariah-compliant ESG, and Muslim consumer behavior.

Dr. Marco Tieman

Dr. Marco Tieman is a Senior Fellow at the IPMI Case Center, where he contributes case research and practitioner insights in the areas of halal supply chain management, procurement strategy, and industrial logistics. His work emphasizes real-world complexity and strategic decision-making, enabling students and executives to engage with cases rooted in market realities across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.

He is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of LBB International, a multinational supply chain consulting firm advising clients on procurement, production, logistics, and end-to-end supply chain strategy. LBB International has delivered projects in agriculture, food, cosmetics, Halal industries, industrial development, ports, and healthcare logistics. With headquarters in the Netherlands and Malaysia, and project offices in Indonesia and Thailand, the firm serves clients globally.

In addition to his role at IPMI, Dr. Tieman is Adjunct Professor at Saito University College (Malaysia) and Universitas Ary Ginanjar (Indonesia), and a board member of Al Madinah Heritage Company and the Halal Products Development Company (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia). His 2021 publication “Halal Business Management: A Guide to Achieving Halal Excellence” is widely recognized as a technical reference for structuring Halal governance in organizations and value chains.
