As most of the logistics are outsourced to a logistics service provider, the logistics service provider is a key supply chain partner in extending halal integrity from source to the point of consumer purchase. Although logistics activities and processes can be outsourced, the responsibility of the halal integrity still lies with the brand owner. There are halal control points and control measures in the logistics of goods in warehouse, transport, and seaport-airport-inland terminal operations. The retailer completes the halal supply chain, where a halal product is handed over to the consumer upon payment. Three halal retailing business models will be introduced.

Topics:

  • The halal logistics service provider
  • The international standard halal supply chain management system standard OIC/SMIIC 17:2020
  • Halal logistics operations: halal warehouse, halal transport, halal compliant terminal
  • Halal retailing
