Purchasing is the professional buying by organizations, defining the buyer-supplier relationship. Purchasing is a critical halal business management function in developing a sustainable Halal Assurance System. Halal requirements have implications for both the procurement strategy and purchasing process. Halal leads to stronger partnerships with suppliers and adopting various strategies to secure continuity of supply. Collaboration is an important halal procurement strategy for leveraging synergy advantages, which is being explored at great length. Halal has implications for both the tactical and operational purchasing process, where automation of supplier monitoring has evident advantages.
