Strengthening Global Academic Ties: Initial Meeting with Prof. KO YoungKyung from YONSEI University, South Korea

Jakarta, 19 June 2025 – IPMI Institute welcomed Prof. KO YoungKyung from YONSEI University, South Korea, for an initial academic partnership meeting held on 19 June 2025 at the IPMI Campus.
The meeting marked the beginning of a strategic dialogue aimed at fostering a Business School-to-Business School Relationship between YONSEI and IPMI, emphasizing shared goals in global business education.
Key areas of collaboration discussed included:
- Academic Exchange Programs for students and faculty
- Joint Research Initiatives
- Collaborative Seminars and Mini-Workshops
- Subject-Specific Engagements, especially in the Business and Entrepreneurship Program
Prof. KO YoungKyung, also a collaborator at the ASEAN Economic Institute (a Japan-sponsored initiative), expressed strong interest in expanding cooperation across mutual academic areas. The discussion proposed a shift from a traditional University-to-University (U2U) model to a more agile Person-to-Person (P2P) collaboration among individual faculty members and researchers.
Several action points are now in planning, including:
- The relaunch of Guest Lectures, estimated starting by September 2025
- Online Seminars led by Prof. KO
- Joint case study development and team teaching
- Exploration of a Research Center for ASEAN Studies
- Integration of ASEAN Studies as a collaborative course
This meeting underscores IPMI’s ongoing commitment to expanding international academic cooperation and creating meaningful cross-border learning opportunities.
