Building a Cost-Conscious Culture and Fundamental Financial Literacy Workshop
29 August 2025
On August 25th, 2025, IPMI Executive Education had the honor of delivering a Finance for Non-Finance (FINON) workshop for PT Borneo Alumina Indonesia (BAI). The session took place in Mempawah Regency, Pontianak, West Kalimantan, in conjunction with BAI’s Corporate Work Plan and Budget (RKAP) meeting.
The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Eduard Naibaho, who shared comprehensive insights on financial management tailored for non-financial leaders. His session emphasized practical approaches to achieving cost efficiency, with a focus on strategic cost management, budgeting techniques, and effective allocation of resources. Dr. Naibaho also highlighted actionable “tips and tricks” that companies can apply to enhance productivity and ensure financial discipline without compromising operational performance.
Spanning over three hours, the session was attended by managers from multiple divisions—including Operations, Research and Development, Finance, and other key functions. The workshop was notably interactive and engaging. Participants actively raised critical and thought-provoking questions, reflecting their high level of curiosity and eagerness to deepen their understanding of financial concepts. This dynamic exchange created a collaborative learning environment, where practical challenges faced by the company could be openly discussed and analyzed through a financial management perspective.
Through this program, IPMI Executive Education once again reaffirmed its role as a strategic partner in executive development, helping organizations such as PT Borneo Alumina Indonesia strengthen a culture of cost awareness, efficiency, and sound financial decision-making. This initiative is also closely aligned with BAI’s vision to become a world-class and leading alumina producer in Indonesia, by equipping its leaders with the knowledge, mindset, and capabilities needed to drive operational excellence and sustainable growth.
