Children must be safe to learn during COVID-19. Radio is the most accessible medium for children in Nusa Tenggara.

Education cannot wait! Donate now to support children in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) to continue their education during the pandemic.

Even though the Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture has given permission to do face-to-face teaching and learning activities in the green and yellow zones, concerns over the spread of COVID-19 continue to overshadow teachers and students.

In NTT, learning is carried out on a rotating system with a duration of 2 hours, the rest is studying at home. Learning at home is less effective without learning media that can be accessed by all. Internet access is still difficult to reach.

Ibu Putu, a teacher in Soe District, NTT said “In our district, online learning is not possible. Internet signals are quite difficult to obtain, not all families have smartphones. The average economic condition of parents of students makes it impossible to buy internet package pulses”.

However, learning must go on. Ibu Putu along with other teachers takes turns filling out radio broadcast material so that the children can continue to learn.

Unfortunately, there are still many families who can’t afford to have radios.

They cannot wait any longer.

How can we help? IPMI International Business School in collaboration with PLAN International open donation to collect 1,000 solar-powered radios to be distributed to villages in NTT and NTB, as well as providing incentives for teachers who run the Teaching and Learning Activities via radio.
